Immerse yourself in the rich traditions of First Nation culture at Drama NSW Gawura’s Cultural Immersion, where you’ll experience two transformative days of learning, storytelling, and cultural exchange. This retreat offers educators and participants a deep dive into traditional performance and storytelling, focusing on the protocols for working with First Nation texts and content.
Led by expert cultural educators, the experience includes ceremony and customs such as Welcome and Smoking Ceremonies, Dreamtime stories around the fire, cultural dance workshops, and the creation of traditional headdresses. You’ll also explore sacred sites, learn about kinship structures, and engage in discussions about bush tucker, bush medicine, and spiritual beliefs.

Gawura Cultural Immersions is a company that prides itself on delivering high-level cultural education. Stuart is a cultural Man from the Dharug and Gubbi Gubbi Nations. Stuart has been professionally performing cultural dance for 17years. Stuart is not just a performer he is a cultural educator whose experience is vast and spans across many disciplines. Stuart has formal qualifications in frontline management, clinical supervision & a Post Graduated Diploma in Professional Practice.
Stuart Facilitates cultural workshops for all organisations from corporate to non- government. Stuarts cultural knowledge has been obtained over many years and has a wonderful ability to translate his cultural lens in a way that invites others in to share in a culture that has thrived for 120,000 years.
