Join Hayden Tonazzi, the Artistic Director of the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP), for an interactive masterclass-style workshop on practical techniques for developing authentic, imaginative, and memorable performances.Through live demonstration with the lead actor from The Last Train to Madeline by Callum Mackay, teachers will discuss the fundamentals of staging performance through demonstrated moments from the show they will see, and then embark on practical exercises to use in the classroom to assist their students in building stagecraft and memorability.
Ticket price includes a 90-minute workshop, and a ticket to attend the evening performance of The Last Train to Madeline. There will be an hour break for dinner, which will be at the attendees own expense.
Hayden commenced as Artistic Director & CEO of the Australian Theatre for Young People, the flagship youth theatre company in Australia, in March 2025. Previously, their credits included Director of the World Premiere of ‘Converted!’ by Vic Zerbst for the 2025 Sydney Festival, and Producer of ‘Saplings’ by Hannah Belanszky for the 2024 Sydney Festival. Hayden’s journey to this position was driven by working with young people in drama and education, with notable moments including being an inaugural recipient of the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation’s ‘Backing The Future’ Award, and leading ATYP’s Regional NSW Connection program with support from the NSW Government Office for Regional Youth.
