CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS!
We invite members to submit expressions of interest to present at the Drama NSW State Conference: Inward Journeys, Outward Stories.
We welcome contributions from:
- Early Childhood and Primary (Early Stage 1, Stage 1, 2 & 3)
- Middle Phase of Schooling (Stage 4 & 5)
- Senior Phase of Schooling (Stage 6)
- Curriculum Research and Innovation in Drama
Guidelines for Presentations:
You can select either a 60-minute or 90-minute workshop/masterclass or 20-minute paper.
Presentations can take the form of:
- Workshop (practical)
- Paper Presentation (lecture style)
- Masterclass (practical or a mix of practical and theory)
- Other – please determine in your application
Try to be as detailed and specific as possible and use the guided questions to frame your workshop description and requirements.

CALL FOR HUMAN LIBRARY BOOKS!
We will be hosting a human library on the Saturday morning of the conference. The human library will consist of human books that can be borrowed by participants to engage in a 20-minute conversation. We are in need of approx. 40 human titles.
Human books are encouraged from the from the following areas:
- Beginning teachers
- Experienced teachers
- Actors
- Creatives
- Drama Students
- Pre-service Teachers
- Regional Teachers
- Performers
- Designers
- Theatre Professionals
- Playwrights
- Retired Teachers
- Researchers
- Primary Teachers
- Stage Managers
- Open to Others (please specify in your EOI)
Book readings will be 20 minutes long – 12 minutes to share a story with your readers and 8 minutes to talk with them and answer any questions they may have for you. The story you share with your readers could be about a project you have been working on, a passion, lessons you have learnt on the job, a production experience, your best teaching moment, or the unique aspects of your role. Your story must hold value for the readers – ie. They should take something away from reading your book.

- Things I Wish I Knew As A Beginner Teacher
- A Day In The Life of A Professional Stage Manager
- The Gift of Circus Arts
- Pearls of Wisdom Shucked Over 30 Years In The Drama Classroom
- My Journey From Drama Teacher to Drama Researcher
